Part 1 General Rules
Article 1 (Purpose) The purpose of this regulation is to prescribe the matters for the organization and operation of Yeungnam University (hereinafter called YU) Attached Living Hall (hereinafter called Living Hall). <Revised on May 25, 1999>
Article 2 (Category and Location) The Living Hall shall be categorized as general and live-alone types within YU. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
Article 3 (Qualifications to Move In)
- ① Residents of the Living Hall shall be persons who fall under the following and shall be selected based on their livelihood and grades. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000 / Dec 6, 2005>
- YU freshmen and enrolled students (undergraduate and graduate) <Revised on May 25, 1999 / Nov 9, 2004, Dec 6, 2005>

- Persons who do not have diseases that may affect collective life <Newly established on Nov 9, 2004>
- ② The Living Hall Director <hereinafter called Hall Director> may allow temporary use of Living Hall facilities to YU students, faculty or outsiders other than the resident students of the Living Hall when deemed necessary for educational purposes and would not impede their management of the Living Hall. Details for these circumstances shall be separately prescribed by the Hall Director. {Newly established on Dec 6, 2005>
- ③ For those who qualify as per clause 1 and 2 the detailed criteria for selecting resident students shall be determined by the Hall Director. <Newly established on Dec 6, 2005>
Article 4 (Residential Period)
- ① The duration of stay in the Living Hall according to Article 3-1 shall coincide with the academic period (excluding breaks) of YU. However, the period may be extended or shorted if necessary. <Revised on May 25, 1999 / Dec 6, 2005>
- ② As prescribed in clause 1, Lunar New Year and Chuseok holidays shall be excluded from the residential period. <Newly enacted on Dec 6, 2005>
Part 2 Organization
Article 5 (Hall Director) The Living Hall shall have a Living Hall Director who will oversee the general matters and operation of the Living Hall. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000 / Dec 6, 2005>
Article 5.2 (Administration Office) The Living Hall shall have an administration office that will be in charge of all matters related to the operation of the Living Hall. <Newly enacted on Nov 14, 2000>
Article 5.3 (Living Hall Supervisor)
- ① A Hall Supervisor may be appointed to manage the resident students of the Living Hall. <Dec 6, 2005 / Dec 3, 2013>

Article 5.4 (Guidance Assistant)

Article 5.5 (Administrator)
- ① An administrator can be appointed to assist the Hall Supervisor in the guidance of resident students. The administrator shall be in charge of guidance work for resident students in accordance with instructions given by the Hall Director, Administration Office Director and the Hall Supervisor. <Newly established on Mar 17, 2009. Article 6 (Employee)
- ① Employees may be hired for the management of facilities of the Living Hall or for the operation of the cafeteria. <Newly established on Nov 14, 2000 / Dec 6, 2005>
- ② Employees shall be hired by the Hall Director and shall carry out duties instructed by the Hall Director. <Revised on Dec 6, 2005>
Article 7 (Auditor) Auditors for the accounting and operation of the Living Hall shall be in accordance with the YU audit regulations. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
Part 3 Operations

- Processing move-in, move-out and regulation of violators in the Living Hall
- Living Hall accounting
- Living Hall cafeteria operation and management
- Operations related to the Living Hall operation committee
- General matters related to the operation of the Living Hall
Part 4 Operation Committee
Article 9 (Operation Committee) An operation committee shall be organized to review the important matters necessary for the operation of the Living Hall. <Revised on May 25, 1999>
Article 10 (Organization)
- ① The Operation Committee shall be organized by the Hall Director, Planning Office director, Student Affairs Office director, Facility Management Office director, Vice-dean of the Graduate School, and members appointed by the president of the university among YU faculty. <Revised on May 25, 1999, May 7, 2002, Sep 13, 2005, Dec 6, 2005, Nov 16, 2010>

Article 11 (Committee Chairperson)

- Matters pertaining to Living Hall budget and settlement
- Matters on payments
- Other important matters related to the operation of the Living Hall
Article 13 (Meeting) The Operation Committee meeting shall be established through the attendance of more than half of the current members, and decisions shall be made by the unanimous approval of the present members.
Part 5 Living Hall Student Committee
Article 14 (Living Hall Student Committee) A Living Hall Student Committee may be organized for matters related to their everyday residence life at the Living Hall. <Revised on May 25, 1999>
Part 6 Move-in and Move-out
Article 15 (Move-in Procedures) The Hall Director shall announce openings for the next semester 15 days before the end of each semester, After receiving and selecting applications for moving into the Living Hall, prospective resident students shall be notified at least 7 days before the scheduled move in date. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000 / Dec 6, 2005>
Article 16 (Moving Out)
- ① Resident students who wish to move out of the Living Hall must submit an application to move out of the Living Hall to the Hall Director at least 5 days prior to moving out. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
- ② Resident students falling under any of the following categories may be instructed to move out based on the vote of the Living Hall Reprimand Committee. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
- Person who received reprimand disposition according to school rules

- Persons who raise or bring in pets to the building (room) <Newly established on Nov 26, 2013>

Part 7 Financial Affairs
Article 17 (Finances) Student residents are responsible for the expenses necessary for the management of the Living Hall excluding those related to tuition costs (basic facility expenses, basic facility repair fees, employee wages). <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>

Article 19 (Payment and Payment Method)
- ① Payments for the Living Hall shall include facility usage fee, management fee, and meal costs. <Revised on Feb 26, 2002>
- ② Various payments that resident students must pay shall be stipulated by the Hall Director through the approval pending a review by the Operation Committee. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
- ③ Payments shall, in principle, be paid one time at the beginning of each semester. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>
Article 20 (Special Expenses) When necessary, the Hall Director may impose special expenses in addition to the payments stated in the above article. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000>

Article 22 (Use of Payments) In principle, payments shall be used for the following.
- Repair of auxiliary facilities
- Meal costs, heating and cooling costs, consumable good expenses, and purchase of equipment deemed necessary by the Hall Director <Revised on May 25, 1999>
- Living Hall faculty allowances and employee wages <Revised on May 25, 1999>
- Other expenses deemed directly necessary for the operation of the Living Hall <Revised on May 25, 1999>
Part 8 Life in the Hall
Article 23 (Rules)
- ① Living Hall rules shall be set as rules for resident students to observe while staying at the Living Hall. The Living Hall rules shall be separately prescribed by the Hall Director. <Revised on Nov 14, 2000 / Dec 6, 2005 / Dec 3, 2013>
- ② Living Hall rules may include matters pertaining to responsibilities of resident students such as penalty points and payments. <Newly established on Dec 3, 2013>
